Hydrolycus armatus is a species of dogtooth characin found in freshwater of tropical South America. [2] It is sometimes known as Payara, [1] or harm, [3] [4] [5] a name it shares with the related H. scomberoides. This predatory fish occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade, but it requires a very large tank.
The development of Agriotypus armatus has been documented on the host Silo pallipes in a stream in South-West England. [1] The life cycle of the wasps took one year, with adults present in May and June. Eggs were laid in the pupae or prepupae of the host. The larvae underwent 5 larval stages before overwintering as adults in their pupal case.
Plant diversity and endemism in Sri Lanka are quite high. Of 3,210 flowering plants belonging to 1,052 genera, 916 species and 18 genera are endemic.
