Rudolph Hargrave (February 15, 1925 – April 1, 2014) served as a justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court from 1978 until his retirement on December 31, 2010. Before being elevated to the highest court, he was a superior court and district judge for Seminole County from 1969 to 1978.

Seminole competed to be the county seat of Seminole County, but lost to Wewoka. [7] The town of Seminole was incorporated as a city in December 1924. [8] Upon the discovery of a high-producing oil well in the city in 1926, Seminole transformed from a town of 854 to a boom town of 25,000 to 30,000 residents.
