I just replaced an '05 E350 5.4 2V, paid $3050 plus $800 no-fault core. Engine arrived full of oil, all gaskets along with new oil filter housing, cooler and filter and steel exhaust manifold studs & nuts. Ford has a fairly impressive support contact number, a three year warranty too.

Regardless, Mason points out that when shopping for a used Ford F-150 with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 or 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, maintenance history is key, as these engines can sludge up pretty quickly when oil change intervals aren’t followed, not to mention experience issues with timing components. In terms of common problems, Mason does point ...

Only after it was all installed and running did I discover this Frazer Engine outfit---might be tempted to go that route should another ever be required. Best of luck--please keep us informed what direction you eventually go.
1 / 1. 1997 - 2003 Ford F150 - Remanufactured 5.4 Engine Startup and Break In - I was planning on using a break in oil with zinc additive to start my new engine, but the more I read the more I'm confused. It seems I really don't need the zinc additive for a SOHC non-tappet engine. So, has anybody else done the startup and...
