The figure known as "Moses al-Khidr" reflects a conflation of the figures of Moses and the old man (identified as al-Khidr by commentators) in Quran 18:60–82, and his association with the life of Dhu al-Qarnayn is reflected by the subsequent immediate appearance of that figure in Q 18:83–102.
