Narayana (Sanskrit: नारायण, IAST: Nārāyaṇa) is one of the forms and epithets of Vishnu. In this form, the deity is depicted in yogic slumber under the celestial waters , symbolising the masculine principle and associated with his role of creation.
Narayanan was born in Melakattu Vilai village near Nagercoil in Kanyakumari District, Tamilnadu. [4] He earned his M.Tech. in Cryogenic Engineering with First Rank from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 1989 and later completed his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the same institution in 2001.
