The plot of Hugo's House of Horrors is limited to what is necessary to explain the game's premise. Hugo ventures to a haunted house after his girlfriend, Penelope, goes there for a babysitting job and gets kidnapped. [1] As he explores the house, he finds a vicious hungry dog, a mad scientist, and a dining room full of classic horror monsters.
Game play consists of interacting with a cast of ghoulish residents who populate the house and move about it, and in collecting and exchanging an inventory of items with them. All of the main characters, as well as the house itself, contain artificial personalities that react to the actions of the player, and the house may be explored in any order.

Sweet Home [a] is a role-playing video game developed and published by Capcom for the Family Computer in 1989. It was developed alongside the horror film of the same name and tells the story of a team of five filmmakers exploring an old mansion in search of precious frescos hidden there.
The game offers customization of a character by first selecting the appearance, and then the stats. The character's stats can also improve while progressing through the game. The game then begins as the character has just walked in the front door of the mansion and the door has slammed behind them. The object of the game is to get out alive.
