Glen Grant distillery was founded in 1840 in Rothes, Speyside, and produces single malt Scotch whisky. Previously owned by Chivas Brothers Ltd , best known for their Chivas Regal blended scotch whisky, Glen Grant was purchased [ 2 ] by the Italian company Campari Group in December 2005.

Caperdonich, originally known as "Glen Grant #2", was built in 1898 by the founders of the Glen Grant distillery, J. & J. Grant. Glen Grant #2 closed after four years, and was dormant until 1965, when it was rebuilt by Glenlivet Distilleries Ltd. [1] By that time, British law prohibited simultaneously operating distilleries from using the same name, and Glen Grant #2 was reopened as "Caperdonich".

The Grants of Glenmoriston, also known as the Grants of Invermoriston, bear an illustrious history; indeed as Isabel Frances Grant states: "the Grants of Glenmoriston have constantly been alluded to in the general history of the Clan".
