Tetra Laval is a Swiss-domiciled multinational corporation of Swedish origin, with headquarters in Pully (), Switzerland.The Tetra Laval Group provides packaging, processing and distribution products for a range of foodstuffs, including liquids, fruit and vegetables, ice-cream and processed food, additionally offering systems for agricultural production and herd management.
In June 2021, the company unveiled a new milk-processing line capable of packaging 130,000 litres (28,596 imp gal; 34,342 US gal) daily. The line, which incorporates Sweden-based Tetra Pak technology, cost USh9.25 billion (approx. US$2.6 million) to install.
In March 1944 he filed for a patent, and in 1951 Tetra Pak was created as a subsidiary to Åkerlund & Rausing. The tetrahedron package made Tetra Pak one of the world's most successful companies. The package is still sold today under the name of Tetra Classic Aseptic .
In the early 1940s, he had the idea of manufacturing packaging for liquid products. The company was inherited by two of his sons Hans and Gad Rausing. In 1996, Hans sold his half of the Tetra Laval Group to his brother, Gad Rausing, for a reported $7 billion. [3] Gad's children Jörn, Finn and Kirsten now own and control the Tetra Laval Group.
