The Star Lite Motel is a historic motel building in Dilworth, Minnesota. It is one of the oldest buildings in Dilworth, and it was the oldest motel in Clay County. Earlier it was known as Charley's Motel. [2] A previous owner, William Donovan created the "Star Lite" neon sign that is regarded as the motel's most noteworthy feature. [2] [3]
The top floor hosted a cocktail lounge called "Top of the Mart" from the 1970s through 2001. The bar slowly rotated once per hour. After this, a bar called "360" (as in degrees) opened in its place, which remained until Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
