It was owned by the UAE based telecommunications operator Etisalat until December 2018. Etisalat had over 4.2 million customers at the end of February 2012.
In July 2018, WelcomHotels Lanka announced that ITC One Hotel and Sapphire Residences will be completed by 2021. [6] ITC Hotels launched Sapphire Residences on 2 October 2018.
