Little Italy is a neighborhood in downtown San Diego, California, [2] that was originally a predominantly Italian and Portuguese fishing neighborhood. It now consists of Italian restaurants, grocery stores, home design stores, art galleries and residential units.
Little Italy, sometimes combined with University Village into one neighborhood, is on the Near West Side of Chicago, Illinois. The current boundaries of Little Italy are Ashland Avenue on the west and Interstate 90/94 on the east, the Eisenhower Expressway on the north and Roosevelt to the south.

Columbia is located south of Little Italy, north of the Marina district, and west of the Core. This district is bordered by Ash Street to the north, F Street to the south, Union Street to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. [2] Santa Fe Depot is served by the Trolley, the COASTER and the Pacific Surfliner.
Cortez Hill is located south of Bankers' Hill, north of the Core District, east of Little Italy and west of Balboa Park. This district is bordered by Interstate 5 to the north, Ash Street/A Street to the south, 11th Avenue/SR 163 to the east and Front Street to the west. In 1982, the San Diego Historical Society moved its collections and research library to the Casa de Balboa building [5] in Balboa Park (maintaining the Serra Museum as an auxiliary museum and education center), and the Society changed its name to the San Diego History Center in 2010. [1] [6]
