SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated comedy television series created by marine science educator and animator Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. It first aired as a sneak peek after the 1999 Kids' Choice Awards on May 1, 1999, and officially premiered on July 17, 1999.
The SpongeBob Popsicle no longer has gumball eyes, Popsicle confirmed. The gumballs will be replaced by a flat layer of chocolate, disappointing nostalgic fans.

It was initially published every two months in the United States beginning in February 2011 and was published monthly from June 2012 to October 2018.
The show's thirteenth and current season premiered in 2020, and 276 episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants have aired. A series of theatrical films based on the show began in 2004 with The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. Guest voices have come from many ranges of professions, including actors, athletes, authors, musicians, and artists.
During the 1940s, Popsicle Pete ads were created by Woody Gelman and his partner Ben Solomon, and appeared on Popsicle brand packages for decades. [ 14 ] The mascot was then introduced in Canada in 1988 and featured in television commercials, [ 15 ] promotions, [ 16 ] and print advertisements [ 17 ] until 1996.
