In May 2001, Fish released his first studio album on his new independent label the Chocolate Frog Record Company, Fellini Days, which Fish co-wrote with John Wesley and John Young. [29] Field of Crows was Fish's eighth solo studio album originally released in December 2003 and then to retail in May 2004.
The album marked the beginning of Fish's cooperation with the Snapper Music label, which took over the retail distribution of Fish's backcatalogue released on his own imprint Chocolate Frog Record Company. (Similarly, the previous best-of Kettle of Fish had been the first release on his short-lived connection with Roadrunner Records.)
Side Four Live tracks recorded at Karlsruhe Substage 25 October 2013. Also released was a deluxe special edition box set version that included the album on cd and a dvd with interviews with Fish about the making of the album and Mark Wilkinson about the artwork for the album.
Fellini Days is Fish's seventh solo studio album (sixth of original material) since leaving Marillion in 1988, his first since Raingods with Zippos (1999) and the first on his own label Chocolate Frog Records.
