Nissan TX15 Transfercase Cracked Open. Hey guys! We recorded a video yesterday showing the guts of the TX15 transfercase found in the 2nd gen Frontier, Xterra, and 1st Gen Titan. We're currently exploring whether it's possible (cost effective) to have crawl gears manufactured for this transfercase. Ideally something in the 3.5:1 to 4:1 range.

  5. Frontier 2.5 vs Other Nissan Makes

    www.clubfrontier.org/threads/frontier-2-5-vs-other-nissan...

I think the consensus was that the owners manual for the pathfinder stated to use 91 octane or higher gas so that may just be a difference in tune (advanced timing probably). I did just now notice doing a quick search, that the 2015 2.5L Frontier rates at 152HP and the 2.5L 2015 altima rates at 182HP.

  6. Gear Ratios? - Nissan Frontier Forum

    www.clubfrontier.org/threads/gear-ratios.22519

So numerically higher, the lower the gear ratio. jerry kinda explained it backwards from how I think of it. If you have 4.11 gears, you will turn the driveshaft 4.11 times before you turn the tire. So if you are in 5th gear (2nd Gen 6 speed) which is 1:1 you get 4.11 turns of the engine for one turn of the Tires.

  7. Steering Wheel Controls Not working | Nissan Frontier Forum

Keep in mind that since you aren’t the original owner of the truck and don’t know it’s history, it’s possible someone installed a different OEM radio that isn’t wired correctly. If that did happen, it might be impossible to get the steering wheel controls to work. 2019 Frontier KC SV. Lobo1625 and raine.

  8. Dual Mass Flywheel?? - Nissan Frontier Forum

The parts breakdown shows them from 2005-2009 4 cylinders and it appears that Courtesy Nissan simply isn't showing newer engine parts. Yes, I would replace the flywheel when doing a clutch replacement. I used to own an 1137 cc 4-cylinder with balance shafts. Of course it would spin nearly 11k RPM. 9. Update on No Crank Failure to Start issue on 2003 Nissan Frontier...

    www.clubfrontier.org/threads/update-on-no-crank-failure-to...

Moral of the story: If you're getting a no crank on a Frontier, battery and starter are fine, and nothing else is helping, check the N+P / Clutch Interlock relay. I did have the starter go out a while back, am hoping that is related to the damage in the old relay and it didn't cause any other issues, or it's just an 18 year old relay that wore out.
