One of the two oldest buildings in Alamo, Georgia, and what is now known as Towns Funeral Home, lies at the center of the city’s history. The house was built in 1870 and home to John McRae (1842-1908), a Montgomery County judge, member of the Georgia State Senate, and founder of Alamo.
Mr. Charles Wayne Bridges, age 72, of Stuckey, GA, passed away at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA Saturday, April 01, 2023, after an extended illness. Mr. Bridges was born February 2, 1951, in McRae, GA, to the late Marcus DeCostos and Lillian Lucille Moran Bridges.
Visitation for Mr. Stinson will be held Monday night from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Towns Funeral Home: 30 N. Commerce St. Alamo, GA. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 19, at Sardis Baptist Church: 2263 SR 126, Glenwood, GA.

Patricia “Pat” Williams, age 66, of Glenwood, Georgia died Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2022, at Glenwood City Cemetery with Wayne Heath and Josh Heath officiating.
