Kumzar (Arabic: كُمْزَار), is a village in Musandam, the northernmost province of Oman. It is the second most northerly inhabited part of the country, and the most northerly inhabited part on its mainland, located on the Strait of Hormuz. The village is only accessible by boat, and its inhabitants speak their own language, known as Kumzari
The peninsula lies to the south of the Strait of Hormuz, between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The northern section of the border divides the Omani exclave of Musandam from the UAE Emirates of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.This peninsula commands the strategic Strait of Hormuz, with the Oman-UAE border consisting of a series of irregular, though roughly horizontal, lines running through mountainous terrain, from the western Persian Gulf coast to the eastern Gulf of Oman coast.
Dibba Al-Hisn can be accessed from one road through UAE and two roads from Musandam (Oman). No airports are available in Dibba Al-Hisn due to its small size. There is an airstrip in Dibba Al-Baya for transportation to Musandam. Taxi service is available. There is a provision for metered taxi service to be provided from the Emirate of Sharjah.
