Air Force Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (AFJROTC) is an elective class offered in many high schools across the United States.It is the junior division of a U.S. Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program composed of physical training, aerospace science academic classes, and leadership skill creation.

A corps of cadets, also called cadet corps, is a type of military school (such as a JROTC high school, ROTC program, senior military college or service academy) intended to prepare cadets for a military life, with the school typically incorporating real military structure and ranks within their respective program.
* Cadet captain is the rank that the leader of a NJROTC unit holds if the unit has reached the cadet enrollment requirements to be rated as a regiment. It is a relatively rare rank, as of June 2013, there are only 5 regimental-sized units out of the 584 NJROTC units worldwide.

The National Defense Act of 1916 authorized Senior ROTC for colleges and universities and Junior ROTC for high schools.
