Joseph Shu-Wei Lin was born in Palo Alto, California, to Gie-ming Lin and Shirley Lin (née Xinxin Wu) [1] on June 21, 1992. After graduating from Palo Alto High School, Lin did postgraduate year at the Berkshire School in Massachusetts. [2] His brother Jeremy Lin is also a professional basketball player.
