There are several advanced table formatting techniques to improve the display or editing of wikitables in Wikipedia. Most of the tips involve use of standard text-editors. You can add a table using HTML rather than wiki markup, as described at HTML element#Tables. However, HTML tables are discouraged because wikitables are easier to customize and maintain, as described at manual of style on tables. Also, note that the <thead>, <tbody>, <tfoot>, <colgroup>, and <col> elements are not supported in wikitext.
Note: This method is a hack which does not work with all Wikipedia skins. For example, users of the Classic skin will have the links at the top of the page covered up by the title.
