Not OP but I have AppleCare, does that limited warranty include free replacements like the standard one? Like in the past I've had my iphone replaced free of charge due to faults. For the past few months, when recording video my mic sounds all muffled, unless the sound e.g. music is very loud it doesnt seem to pick it up.
Reddit’s little corner for iPhone lovers (and some people who just mildly enjoy it…) (Shockingly) Great Experience with AppleCare+ Theft and Loss. Just want to share my great experience with AppleCare+ Theft and Loss for anyone who may be interested lol. I’m in the USA. 8/28/22: iPhone Pro 12 was stolen from my pocket at a bar.
The price for the iPhone 14 is different than for the 14 Pro for example. Apple Care + for the 14 Pro is around 250€ and with theft coverage its 310. Keep in mind that you really have to drop it a few times to make it worth it. Any repair will be an extra 90€.
AppleCare is you getting the correct price to fix the damage. The other is over-inflated to milk you. Don't forget the cost of Applecare, $130 + $50, almost $200. Still much better than a repair without it, but I take care of my devices and would not want to pay extra for a chance I might need it.
The value of AppleCare has absolutely 0 to do with the repair experience. All AppleCare is at it's core is an extended warranty that discounts/prorates the costs of repairs that are needed in the case of damage. It also extends the warranty from 1 year to 3.
As noted in the newsletter, an annual AppleCare+ subscription for a new 16-inch MacBook Pro runs $140 a year compared to $380 for Apple's three-year plan. Customers who keep the annual subscription for three years end up paying a $40 premium. On the other end of the spectrum, the premium for a 13-inch MacBook Air runs $10 over the same period.
AppleCare on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch used to be 2 years, no extensions, and only 2 incidents for the whole duration. In light of the policy changes, however, after the two years are up, you may be given the option of paying month-to-month, assuming you aren’t going to trade-in or resell your device in favor of a newer model.
Apple only allows you to add AppleCare+ for 60 days after device activation. You can get more than 2 years of coverage by paying monthly for AppleCare+, but once again it would have needed to be purchased within 60 days of activation of the device. I am one of the PM’s who worked on the AppleCare team.
A broken back glass on this phone is a $500 repair. But only a $30 repair with apple care. $10 a month for Apple care is still worth it for me. A $500 broken glass repair is over 1/2 the value of my phone. As a gauge I use Apple’s repair estimates as a gauge in cost-to value estimation. I also use Apple’s trade in values as a very rough ...
It expires after the 2 year mark and if you need services for your phone after the 2 year mark, you have to go through T-Mobile's own insurance company for repairs. The monthly insurance price stays the same as it was before. If you cancel it beforehand, the applecare+ services cancel as well. 6. Reply.
