Doesn't matter, they are all better than your current C5. In my opinion, any C6 will do. 2005-2013, either base, GS, Z06, or ZR1. Whatever does it for you, what you can afford, I don't think you can go wrong. I came from a 2001 coupe to a 2005 coupe and absolutely loved it.
C6 Corvette General Discussion - Any C6 Year to Avoid? - I'm looking to trade a 2004 coupe and move up to a 2007 coupe, just the base model.
C6 Corvette General Discussion - Problem Years? - The wife and I are retiring and looking at buying a used C5 or C6 Coupe. We want to tour the country. Are there any model years to avoid due to problems?
1953 Corvette. Photo Credit: Lingenfelter Collection. I personally disagree with this choice, due to its striking beauty. The very first Corvette has been called the best and also the worst Corvette ever. Built from parts belonging to other Chevrolet passenger cars at the time, the first Corvette was slow, unreliable, and featured poor fit and ...
first I've heard about 09+ build quality being inferior. Since this is C6 general, the simplest advice is to stay away from anything prior to 2005 and be leery of the 2005. I purchased my 2005 coupe with 4,000 miles on it four years ago. I now have 45,000 miles on it and have had NO PROBLEMS with the car whatsoever.
C6 Corvette ZR1 & Z06 - Newbie First Corvette purchase.. Which year to avoid?? - Looking for a used Z06. It almost became a common practice to avoid the first year of new model vehicles, since today's vehicles are heavily reliant on electronics and sensors.
Buy the newest lowest mileage C6 that you can afford. This is the best advice so far. You stated a C6 preferably ‘08+ so that you can get the LS3. You didn’t say if you wanted coupe or convertible, automatic or manual transmission, didn’t say a color but most people have a favorite color or a color they don’t want.
I usually try to avoid the first year of a new model car but made an exception for the corvette. After all the 'worst' or a 'bad' C6 is still one of the best cars on the road. So far I love my '05 and don't plan on trading it anytime soon. Hopefully it will become a collectors item someday as the first C6.
The biggest change was right up front—the C6 was the first Corvette in more than 40 years to have exposed headlights. The C6 is also smaller overall than the C5—an inch narrower and more than five inches shorter; although, the C6 wheelbase is actually more than an inch longer than the C5's. Figure 1.
