Piccolo (Japanese: ピッコロ, Hepburn: Pikkoro) is a fictional character in the Japanese Dragon Ball media franchise created by Akira Toriyama.He made his appearance in chapter #161 "Son Goku Wins!!", published in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on February 9, 1988, [2] as the reincarnation of the evil King Piccolo, who was positioned as a demonic antagonist of the series.
Piccolo arrives on Planet Namek, following being resurrected and wished there. He begins rushing towards the battlefield, and along the way encounters an ailing Nail, on the brink of death. Piccolo reluctantly performs a Namekian fusion with Nail, which increases his power substantially, and begins rushing back to the battlefield.
Piccolo makes the ultimate sacrifice, and dives in front of Gohan to block Nappa's attack. As Piccolo dies, he tells Gohan that he is his only friend and how sorry he is about being so hard on him during training. With Piccolo dead, Kami and the Dragon Balls are also gone, meaning that no one can be wished back.
Piccolo kills 'Dore and Neiz, but Cooler arrives and impales him with an energy beam. Salza manages to track Gohan to the cave and destroys the beans. However, Gohan successfully heals Goku with a spare one. Krillin and Gohan are quickly defeated by Salza but Goku soon emerges. Cooler taunts Goku by further injuring Piccolo.
King Piccolo is furious about Cymbal's death. Tambourine next targets Giran, and goes after the next name on his list: Yamcha. Goku requests Yajirobe's dragon ball, explaining their powers to him. Tambourine finds Yamcha but before he can kill him, King Piccolo telepathically orders him to find Cymbal's killer.
