New Dorp (/ ˈ nj uː d ɔːr p / NEW-dorp) is a neighborhood on the South Shore of Staten Island, New York City, United States.New Dorp is bounded by Mill Road on the southeast, Tysens Lane on the southwest, Amboy and Richmond Roads on the northwest, and Bancroft Avenue on the northeast.

The original New Dorp station building of the Staten Island Railway, which was also relocated from New Dorp.. The lighthouse and land were neglected and vandalized for ten years until being sold at auction to a Staten Island resident named John Vokral for $32,000 in 1974. New Dorp Beach (2012), where 14 acres were purchased in 1879 for building the hospital. The Staten Island land acquired along the shore of New Dorp Beach was used for what became St. John's Guild Seaside Hospital. Although the hospital was not dedicated until June 1899, [1] the prior year, in September, they reported handling 255 newborns. [2]
