Southern Line (Thai: ทางรถไฟสายใต้) is a metre-gauge railway line in Thailand, operated by State Railway of Thailand (SRT), which runs through most of the provinces in the Central, Western, and Southern regions of Thailand. At 1,144.29 kilometres in length, it is Thailand's longest railway line.

Construction of the Bangkok-Ayutthaya railway (71 km or 44 mi), the first part of the Northern Line, was started in 1890 and inaugurated on 26 March 1897. [1] The Thon Buri-Phetchaburi line (150 km or 93 mi), later the Southern Line, was opened on 19 June 1903.

This station opened in April 1913 for the Southern Line section Huai Yot–Kantang, initially as Trang railway station. The line was extended about 500 metres to Kantang Port so cargo from international trade with Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia could be transported by rail. That section ceased operations in the 1960s and was dismantled.
