In 1976 Stollmeyer returned to Trinidad and Tobago at his family's insistence and was treated for alcoholism. In 1977 he returned to New York, where he died on 12 June 1982, aged 70. Stollmeyer was one of Trinidad and Tobago's great painters. His work was very influential towards the Caribbean art movement.
In 1981, a Holder painting was presented by the then President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Sir Ellis Clarke, as a wedding gift from the nation to Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Boodhoo was a member of the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago. He died in 2004. The Isaiah Boodhoo Collection is held at The Alma Jordan Library, Special Collections, The University of the West Indies, St Augustine campus, Trinidad and Tobago. The collection includes a manuscript for his novel Between Two Seasons.
Amy Leong Pang (1908–1989) was a painter from Trinidad and Tobago. Of Chinese descent, Leong Pang was born in Princes Town and sent to school in China; she is known to have painted while there. After her return to Trinidad and Tobago she moved to Port of Spain .
