Radford University is an 211 acres (0.85 km 2) campus located in a residential area of Radford, Virginia. The town is located in the Virginia Highlands, between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains at a double bend in the New River .
Its name changed in 1878. In 1889, Kentucky University (later Transylvania University), bought a stake in the school, taking total control in 1903. Closed in 1932. John Lyle's Female Seminary (founded in 1806) [2] Kentucky College for Young Ladies, Pewee Valley, was chartered and opened in 1874. Boys were allowed for day classes in 1896.
Located at the south end of the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, the Switzer Center houses football offices, the football locker room, equipment room, the Siegfried Strength and Conditioning Complex, the Freede Sports Medicine Facility and the Touchdown Club Legends Lobby.
Oklahoma's admission into the union in 1907 led to the renaming of the Norman Territorial University as the University of Oklahoma. Norman residents donated 407 acres (1.6 km 2 ) of land for the university 0.5 miles (0.8 km) south of the Norman railroad depot.

On March 10, 2015, the University of Oklahoma board of regents approved the initial construction of "Phase 1" to renovate Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
