Rust (German: ⓘ; Low Alemannic: Ruäscht) is a municipality in the district of Ortenau in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is also the home of the famous theme park Europa-Park . The Renaissance era Balthasar Castle is now part of the theme park.
The Rulantica site is located in the east of Rust, Baden-Württemberg, about 30 km (19 mi) north of Freiburg im Breisgau and 28 km (17 mi) south-east of Offenburg, in close proximity to the Europa-Park. [1] Its total area is 45 hm 2 (110 acres), of which about 15 hm 2 (37 acres) are developed. [2]
