WordWorld is an American animated children's television series based on the books and the wooden puzzles of the same name. The series was created by Don Moody , Jacqueline Moody , Peter Schneider and Gary Friedman, it was produced by The Learning Box and WTTW National for PBS Kids .
The television series is broadcast in 12 languages and supports English Language Learning (ELL) around the world. A rigorous third-party study funded by the DOEd demonstrates WordWorld is an effective early literacy tool for preschoolers. The series premiered on September 3, 2007, and ended on January 17, 2011, having run for three seasons, containing 80 episodes in total. Peg + Cat replaced re-runs of WordWorld in the PBS Kids lineup in October 2013.
