The Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences is a peer-reviewed academic journal which focuses on multidisciplinary field of aquatic sciences. It was founded in 1901 by the Biological Board of Canada, later known as the Fisheries Research Board of Canada. It is published monthly by Canadian Science Publishing.
Aquaculture is a peer-reviewed scientific journal covering research on aquaculture, published by Elsevier. [1] It was established in 1972. [ citation needed ] The journal Annual Review of Fish Diseases , separately published from 1991 to 1996, was incorporated into Aquaculture following the cessation of its separate publication. [ 2 ]

[10] William Edwin Ricker, a leading fisheries scientist, was the journal's editor-in-chief from 1950 until his retirement in 1973. A recent review of literature related to aquaculture in Canada concludes that there is a need for a national strategic plan to increase aquaculture production and to simplify the regulatory framework to reduce uncertainties and delays that have limited growth in the sector, while fostering greater involvement of First Nation communities.
