Magnavox (Latin for "great voice", stylized as MAGNAVOX or sometimes Magnavox in Australia) is an American electronics company. It was purchased by North American Philips in 1974, [1] which was absorbed into Dutch electronics company Philips in 1991.
It is also known as a unipolar generator, acyclic generator, disk dynamo, or Faraday disc. The voltage is typically low, on the order of a few volts in the case of small demonstration models, but large research generators can produce hundreds of volts, and some systems have multiple generators in series to produce an even larger voltage. This model was intended to sit above the heavily related, but wider 2.6-litre inline-four engined Mitsubishi Magna (TN/TP) sourced from Australia. Second generation (1991–1996): the V3000 name was transferred to the Australian sourced Mitsubishi Verada (KR/KS) with 3.0-litre V6.
The Mitsubishi Magna is a mid-size car that was produced over three generations between 1985 and 2005 by Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL). Developed as a replacement for the Mitsubishi Sigma, each Magna generation derived from Japanese platforms re-engineered for the Australian market and conditions.
The second generation Magna of 1987–1988 was dubbed the Super Magna by aficionados of the bike, though it was not an official Honda name. In 1987, the 699 cc engine produced 80 brake horsepower (60 kW) @ 9,500 rpm, with torque being 46 lb⋅ft (62 N⋅m) @ 7,500 rpm. In 1988, the Magna grew back to its original size of 748 cc.
