Feeding a cat only dry food, or a cat not getting enough water for some other reason, can cause chronic mild dehydration, which in turn can cause kidney problems and urinary problems.

Purraise. 2,769. Location. Northeast Georgia. Friskies has a lot of organ meat, which can cause diarrhea/runny stools. He may outgrow any issues as his gut matures, he may not. Adding a probiotic, like FortiFlora by Purina, may help too. In the meantime, if the others tolerate it, keep the pate in the mixture.
Kitten. Sometimes, it can be the preservatives in the food causing diarrhea. Some cats are very sensitive to certain preservatives and only a tiny amount will upset their stomach. Almost all of the Friskies flavours have fish in them, including the poultry ones, so you will still have an issue if fish is the problem.
Friskies wet is actually one of my regular rotation canned foods because it's well accepted by the cats, readily available, and quite affordable. Friskies and Fancy Feast are two wet food brands that are actually relatively good and budget-friendly and quite a few other members feed it to their cats too.

Purraise. 10. she doesn't eat much dry food, i give her Purina One canned. never had any problems with that one, she also likes Fancy Feast (very similar texture), but it isn't very high quality. i looked on the website and i don't see any recalls. i figured half Purina - half Tiki, and she's eating half-healthy.

Soon after I started feeding my male cat, Pumpkin, the new Friskies dry he began vomiting several times a day. He is a healthy cat and before he rarely vomited and only because of hair balls.
