The solution was a combination of the Kindle app and another app that never completely installed. Using Ghost Commander from BlackBerry World, I removed both and then after a reboot my Android apps began working again. I have a brand new classic and after a few days the Amazon Appstore stopped opening. When I try to open it, it goes to a black ...
Hold down your top button for about 30 seconds. Keep pressing it down, ignoring onscreen countdown and restart option, BB splashscreen, and black screen. The red LED will turn on. As soon as LED turns off, release the top key.
Even I have the same problem. I once bought something on amazon website while travelling in Germany. Now the app would show everything in German language on my passport. Tried changing the language to English on the amazon website but the appstore still shows everything in German. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
On selecting apps from the Amazon app store, they regularly become stuck in the download phase, I can elect to download them and then they say "downloading..." with a progress bar that doesn't make progress. I also have no way of canceling the download and therefore no way of downloading any other apps
With the new OS 2.0 I loaded the Amazon Appstore .bar file, logged in with my Amazon Account and was able to browse apps. When I tried to install any of the free apps, I received the message "The Amazon Appstore is not yet available in your region". I even changed to a US proxy. I wasn't able to download anything.
Try opening Blackberry world and accessing your app profile, click installed and hold on the app you want to delete and I believe an option will pop up to delete, hit delete. Correct for those apps that show up in BlackBerry world. Unfortunately, Amazon App Store does not show up there. 11-04-14 07:08 PM. Like 0.
Turn Parental Controls on, then scroll down and turn the Amazon Appstore off. This will disable it on the device. Then close Settings. Last item, you can't delete the Amazon Appstore icon, but I dragged ...
At least on my Passport, if you set the App Appearance to "Zoomed out"/"Full screen", the Appstore has a BlackBerry 10 app design to it with the bottom panel. It doesn't look like BlackBerry World, but it looks something like BBM or the BB10 WhatsApp app. Just tried both Amazon apps; both working.

So I finally got my Passport yesterday and I've got to say I'm more impressed by it than I thought I would be. The only issue I have with it so far is with the Amazon app, when I try to open it, it asks for permissions, I hit OK and the app just fails, doesn't even attempt to open. Of course, you can't delete it to reload, that would be too simple!
