Vintage Guitars is a British manufacturer of electric and acoustic guitars and bass guitars founded in 1995. The Vintage brand is owned by UK musical instrument distributors John Hornby Skewes and Co. Ltd. (JHS), and is based in Garforth , Leeds.

The series began as an ultimately unbroadcast pilot in August 2009. This original preliminary version saw the two experts – David Harper and Kate Bliss – each driving a classic car, and free to roam where they chose within a "work-day" time limit (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) to buy up antiques with their £200 budget, with the goal of making the most profit when entered into auction two days later.
In 2003 Gibson Guitars produced limited editions of Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Allen Collins's Gibson Explorer. The guitar is made of African limba wood and features an aged finish, Maestro vibrola, and classic humbucking pickups In 2008 Gibson released two new versions of the guitar, the first of which was the "50-Year Commemorative Explorer".
In the 1920s and 1930s, Gibson, National and Martin developed higher quality acoustic, mandolin and resonator guitars which would later become very sought after vintage acoustic guitars. During this period, Gibson used a nomenclature related to the price of the guitar. For example, in 1938, a J-35 was $35, a J-55 was $55. J denoted Jumbo.
