The Belle Vue Aces are a British speedway club, based in Manchester. The club hold the record of having won the top tier League championship 14 times. They currently compete in the SGB Premiership , racing at The National Speedway Stadium , with home matches usually taking place on Monday evenings.

The 2024 SGB ROWE Motor Oil Premiership was the 89th season of the top tier of British speedway and the 7th known as the SGB Premiership. [1] The defending champions were Sheffield Tigers and Ipswich Witches were the defending Knockout Cup champions. Belle Vue Aces won the title, [2] while Sheffield Tigers won the Knockout Cup.
Belle Vue first operated a reserve team during the 1934 Speedway National League which finished 6th in the league table. [2] Three years later in the 1937 Provincial Speedway League the Belle Vue reserve side took over the fixtures of Liverpool Merseysiders and in the 1939 Speedway National League Division Two the Belle Vue reserves replaced Stoke Potters. Belle Vue Stadium was a greyhound racing track in Belle Vue, Manchester, England, [2] where the first race around an oval track in Britain was held on 24 July 1926. It has also been used for motorcycle speedway, as the home ground of Elite League team Belle Vue Aces from 1988 until 2015, and from 1999 until 2019 for stock car racing and banger racing.
Former Leicester rider Ivor Brown re-opened the speedway at Long Eaton Stadium. [7] Belle Vue Colts completed the league and cup double, which included retaining their league title. [8] [9] Ken Eyre and Eric Broadbelt were once again instrumental in helping the Colts win again and they were backed up well by Chris Bailey and Bill Moulin. [10]
In 2021, he became a world champion after the Great Britain national speedway team secured the 2021 Speedway of Nations (the world team title) and signed for the Belle Vue Aces. [20] He returned to ride for Belle Vue in the SGB Premiership 2022, where he won the league title [21] and for the Glasgow Tigers in the SGB Championship 2022. [22]
