Immaculata University is a private Roman Catholic university in East Whiteland Township, Pennsylvania. [ 3 ] [ 4 ] It was founded by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary . The university is composed of 1,427 traditional undergraduate and adult undergraduate students, and more than 1,000 graduate and doctoral students.

The 1973 AIAW women's basketball tournament was held on March 22–25, 1973. The host site was Queens College in Flushing, New York.Sixteen teams participated, and Immaculata College, now known as Immaculata University, was crowned national champion at the conclusion of the tournament, for the second straight year.
Immaculata played Queens College on February 22, 1975, in front of 11,969 spectators. The arena played Helen Reddy 's I Am Woman as the fans entered the arena. The game was a one-point game late in the game, when a foul and a technical were called against Queens but the wrong Immaculata player went to the line.
