The 2018 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 24th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 73rd FIM Speedway World Championship. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It was the eighteenth series under the promotion of Benfield Sports International, an IMG company.

The Speedway Grand Prix series and the Speedway World Cup were originally promoted by Benfield Sports International, which later was renamed to BSI Speedway. On 11 April 2007 it was announced that BSI Speedway had been acquired by IMG and the existing team took up roles within IMG Motorsport. IMG Motorsport managed the series until 2021.
The Grand Prix was won by Tai Woffinden, who beat defending world champion Jason Doyle, Bartosz Zmarzlik and Greg Hancock in the final. [2] As a result of winning the Grand Prix, Woffinden extended his overall lead over Zmarzlik in the world championship standings to ten points with just one round remaining.
The 2018 British Speedway Championship was the 58th edition of the British Speedway Championship. [1] Craig Cook was the defending champion having won the title in 2017 . The competition consisted of two semi-finals and a final, with eight riders qualifying from each semi-final.
The series consisted of four qualifying rounds at Esbjerg, Žarnovica, Lonigo and Abensberg, two semi-finals at Olching and Terenzano and the Grand Prix Challenge at Togliatti. [1] The three riders that qualified were Przemysław Pawlicki , Artem Laguta and Craig Cook .
