Traditionally in the United States, the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy was the first-professional degree for pharmacy practice. However, in 1990, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) mandated that a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) would be the new first professional degree beginning with the class of 2006.
The college is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), an independent agency recognized by the US Department of Education to accredit schools of pharmacy. [5] Each entering class to the college consists of around 120 students. The total student body has close to 420 PharmD students and 55 PhD candidates.
