After climbing just over 500 metres (1,600 ft) in 5 kilometres (3.1 mi), the trail enters Emperor campground. From here the trail continues on 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) until reaching the shores of Berg Lake and Marmot campground. If you carry on a further 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) you will reach Berg Lake campground.
