On closer inspection, I realized there was a very, very tiny shutter with red film over the lens. I could slide the tiny shutter by a tinier notch above it. Doing so fixed the problem and built in webcam then worked great.

Hmm, I accidentally toggled it by holding FN and pressing the right arrow key, my laptop shut off and starting like using the fans very fast it was like there was a tornado in the room, I panicked and then turned on the PC and it stopped but the red crosshair appeared, not sure how to turn it off now.
But when I charge it back and switch it on I have this red screen . I did all the methods displayed above but for the last step I am not able to restore plan defaults. I tried all possible methods to reduce the red color on the screen through a software called Power Strip. Please help . My laptop is a 32 bit windows 10 operating system. thank you!!
I get a red screen on start up of windows 10 and all I can see for ages are the dots whirling round, and nothing happens. The first time it happened the red screen also flashed at times. I got it reinstalled, which fixed the flashing and the start up speed, but not the red screen. Now the pc takes forever to start up again. why is this happening.
