Kingsgrove Bus Depot is a bus depot in the Sydney suburb of Kingsgrove operated by Transit Systems. History. Kingsgrove Bus Depot opened on 22 February 1948.
Kingsgrove station opened on 21 September 1931 when the East Hills line opened from Tempe to East Hills. [3] It was the original terminus of the double track electrified section from Tempe. Until 1939, passengers transferred at Kinsgrove to a CPH railmotor or steam service to continue their journey towards East Hills.
As of January 2025, it has an allocation of 284 buses, including 6 electric buses, across 5 depots - Taren Point, Menai, The Crescent (Kingsgrove), Revesby and Marrickville for the 40 Southwest Link replacement buses.
Transit Systems operates out of three depots in Region 2 in Bradbury, Macquarie Fields and Smeaton Grange, four depots in Region 3 in Bankstown, Hoxton Park, Smithfield and South Granville, and four in Region 6 in Burwood, Kingsgrove, Leichhardt and Tempe.

In May 1992, route 455 Kingsgrove to Kogarah via Hurstville was purchased from Allways Bus Service and in October 1996 route 49 Rockdale to Carlton from Sydney Coachlines. [3] [4] In April 1997, routes 112 and 49 were renumbered 452 and 453. [5] [6] In January 2001, Pioneer Coaches was sold to Connex Southtrans with 16 buses. [1] [7]
In October 1996, routes 6 and 68 passed to Sydney Buses' Kingsgrove depot, and were renumbered as 471 and 499 respectively. [8] [11] In April 1998, the Canterbury Bus Lines operation was sold to Punchbowl Bus Company, [12] [13] who would also purchase the Pleasure Tours routes in July 2005.
