The western terminus of the 14-mile (23 km) route is at the Buffalo city line in Cheektowaga , where Walden Avenue continues west toward downtown Buffalo.
The Depew, Lancaster and Western Railroad (reporting mark DLWR) is a class III railroad operating in New York.It is a subsidiary of Genesee Valley Transportation (GVT). The DLWR is composed of two operations, one located between Depew, New York and Lancaster, New York and the other in Batavia, New York.
Depew was one of several stations in a tight corridor leading the Buffalo: it lay approximately 1 ⁄ 4 mile (0.40 km) from the New York Central's station and 1 mile (1.6 km) from the Erie Railroad's station.
