The A55 road is the principal route linking North Wales with North West England. Proposals for the then Clwydian Range AONB, established in 1985, to become a national park were first raised in 2010. [1] The Nant Peris valley lies to the northwest descending to the town of Llanberis , the Llyn Peris and Llyn Padarn lakes and continues on as the Afon Rhythallt to Caernarfon and the Menai Strait .
