Greene County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.As of the 2020 census, the population was 35,954. [1] Its county seat is Waynesburg. [2] Greene County was created on February 9, 1796, from part of Washington County and named for General Nathanael Greene.
As of the census [6] of 2000, there were 6,564 people, 2,659 households, and 1,834 families residing in the township. The population density was 171.7 inhabitants per square mile (66.3/km 2 ). There were 2,893 housing units at an average density of 75.7 per square mile (29.2/km 2 ).
