Camp Chase was an American Civil Wartraining and prison camp established in May 1861, on land leased by the U.S. Government.[4] It replaced the much smaller Camp Jackson which was established by Ohio Governor William Dennison Jras a place for Ohio's union volunteers to meet.[4] It originally operated from a city park.
The Ohio Theatre is a performing arts center and former movie palace on Capitol Square in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. Known as the "Official Theatre of the State of Ohio", the 1928 building was saved from demolition in 1969 and was later completely restored. [3] [4] The theater was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977.
The Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks are a group of 20 metropolitan parks in and around Columbus, Ohio. They are officially organized into the Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District. The Metro Parks system was organized in 1945 under Ohio Revised Code Section 1545 as a separate political division of the state of Ohio.
