This is a list of songs performed, sung and/or recorded by Mohammed Rafi between 1942 and 1980. Over 5,000 of his songs are listed here. Most are in Hindi but he also sang in several other languages. The genre of song is first, followed by any other singers and the music director or lyricist, then album name and year released.
Other songs followed. Rafi's first song with Naushad was "Hindustan Ke Hum Hain" with Shyam Kumar, Alauddin and others, from A. R. Kardar's Pehle Aap (1944). Around the same time, Rafi recorded another song for the 1945 film Gaon Ki Gori, "Aji Dil Ho Kaaboo Mein". He considered this song to be his first Hindi language song.

Mohammed Rafi has sung all seven songs, three of them were duets with Lata Mangeshkar, including the famous song, "Dafli Wale Dafli Baja", "Koyal Boli", "Duniya Doli" and "Parbat Ke Us Paar". The song "Koyal Boli" was shot on the banks of the Godavari River in Rajahmundry, "Parbat Ke Us Par" in Ooty and "Dafli Wale" in Kashmir. [1]

The film's music was composed by Naushad. Mukesh gave playback for Dilip in this film and one of the "Mukesh hits" was "Gaye Ja Geet Milan Ke". Mohammed Rafi's voice was used just once, for the popular song "Ye Zindagi Ke Mele", set in a fairground and picturised on a wandering mendicant at the start of the film. [2]
