    Also, re-read the above and DID find a couple of things I can comment on. First: yeas, older songs had a "verse" similar to the intro of "If I Fell"; and yes, they were optional. But the intro to "If I Fell" is NOT optional, but is an integral part of the song. Hence, not a "verse" in the classic sense.
