Fiat Trattori S.p.A. was a Fiat group company founded in 1919, and was a constructor of agricultural equipment, tractors in particular. Over its decades of history, it established itself as Italy's leading constructor and one of the biggest in Europe; in 1991, it took over Ford-New Holland and adopted its name to increase its status on the world markets.
Come 1965, the year in which the "15" series was launched, SOMECA was only manufacturing licensed Fiat Trattori models. FIAT had always been SOMECA's majority shareholder and, in 1983, integrated the company into its agricultural subsidiary FiatAgri , which became Fiat New Holland in 1993 before becoming Fiat CNH Global , as it is currently known.

Case IH and New Holland merged in 1999 to form CNH Global, which in turn merged with Fiat Industrial in 2012 to form CNH Industrial. In 2020, the factory in St. Valentin had 600 employees, and produced around 10'000 tractors per year, both Case IH and Steyr.
