The Photographic Society of New Zealand [10] is also a popular group for amateurs, representing camera clubs throughout the country. New Zealand has two locally produced publications for the photographic community: The Photographer's Mail (focuses on the professional and industry) and D-Photo (focuses on the consumer and enthusiast).
Together they collaborated on photographic works that analysed the media's representation of women and created new works that contrasted these ideals. [ 5 ] Edwards' interest in the portrayal of women began when she was a teenager; collecting photos from magazines in the late 1960s, she began to see discrimination within the imagery.

Fiona Mary Clark (born 1954) is a New Zealand social documentary photographer, one of the first photographers to document New Zealand's LGBT scene. In the 1970s and 1980s she photographed Karangahape Road, and the clubs Mojo's, Las Vegas Club and the KG Club.
