Dar Al Uloom University (Arabic: جامعة دار العلوم, romanized: Jāmiʿah Dār al-Uʿlūm; DAU) is a university in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. [1]Dar Al Uloom University (DAU) offers a range of programs for Saudi and international students, with academic training and accreditation by the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education.
The institute has over 350 students from more than 40 countries. In early 2018, the university became the first in the Kingdom to offer a driving school for women, following the allowance of King Salman to grant women the right to drive in the Kingdom. More than 50,000 female students are expected to take part. [9]
It was known as Riyadh University from 1964 until it was reverted to its inceptive name in 1982. [4] It was converted into an independent non-profit academic institution in 2023. [5] The student body of KSU today consists of 40,000 male and female students, 7% of which are international. [6]
The university was formally established in 2005. The advanced medical facilities at the King Abdulaziz Medical Cities in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al-Ahsa proved to be critical foundations for the successful inception of the university. KSAU-HS's main campus is in Riyadh with two additional campuses in Jeddah and Al-Ahsa.
