The district includes 121 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in Downingtown. The buildings include a number of notable examples of Georgian style dwellings dated to the early- to mid-18th century.
In the 1920s, the current routing of US 322 Bus. was designated PA 5 heading northwest of West Chester and US 122/PA 29 (later US 202) along High Street. [ 6 ] [ 7 ] [ 8 ] In the 1930s, US 322 was designated to run through the borough along Hannum Avenue, Gay Street, and High Street, replacing PA 5 and running concurrent with US 202. [ 9 ]

The Lincoln Highway within Pennsylvania was designated as PA 1 in 1924. [9] [10] With the creation of the United States Numbered Highway System in 1926, US 30 was designated concurrently with PA 1 on the Lincoln Highway west of Philadelphia. [10] [11] The concurrent PA 1 designation was removed from US 30 in 1928. [12] [13] [14]
Pennsylvania Route 282 Alternate Truck was a truck route around a weight-restricted bridge over the East Branch Brandywine Creek in Eagle, Pennsylvania. It followed Moore Road, PA 100 and PA 113. Along PA 100, it ran concurrent with PA 401 Alternate Truck. The route was signed in 2013, but it was decommissioned in 2019 following a bridge repair.

The Roger Hunt Mill is an historic, American grist mill complex that is located in Downingtown, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. [ 1 ]
